What is One Health?

The One Health initiative is a collaborative effort between the Southwest border Food Protection and Emergency Preparedness Center (SWBC) and the New Mexico Department of Health.

One Health recognizes that the health of people, animals, and the environment are deeply interconnected. By bringing together expertise from multiple disciplines, One Health promotes collaboration at the local, national, and global levels to help prevent disease, address emerging health challenges, and improve the wellbeing of people, animals, and the environment.

Our Goal

The goal of One Health is to sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, animals, and the environment.
